Lauren C. Michel (Walker) was born on June 8th, 1984, raised in Bellbrook, Ohio and graduated from Bellbrook High School in 2002. Lauren’s motto was “Live Small, Do Much”. Her passion in life was to help others. She worked hard to fulfill this passion by studying long hours and working at a daycare center all while raising her two young daughters, Alexa and Sienna . She graduated from Wright State University with a degree in nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse on the Heart and Vascular 6 Unit at Miami Valley Hospital. She lost her life tragically, due to domestic violence by her estranged husband, at the young age of 32 on July 3rd, 2016. She continued to help others even after her passing as she was an organ donor and gave the gift of life to at least 7 people. Lauren was also a tissue and cornea donor and was also able to give the gift of sight to 2 people as well as countless others with the tissue donations. Lauren’s Beat Goes On 5K race will raise proceeds for domestic violence awareness and nursing education scholarships for future nurses.

How can I help?

Run/Walk in Remembrance of Lauren Michel's passion for nursing.  All money raised will be gifted to domestic violence shelters in the Dayton area and to the Miami Valley Hospital Foundation (MVHF) in support of scholarships for nursing education.
